AP Top 25: Texas stays No.1, Missouri surges

Texas remains No.1 in the Week 6 AP Top 25 college football poll, while Missouri made the week’s biggest jump after a statement win.
The Longhorns (4-0) were idle but kept all 61 first-place votes. Georgia, Notre Dame and Miami held steady at Nos. 2, 3 and 4.
Missouri rocketed 11 spots to No.14 after demolishing then-No.8 Florida 45-17 at home — the largest jump in the poll.
Pittsburgh entered the rankings at No.25 with a 5-0 start, but there was bad news: star quarterback Mason Heintschel tore his ACL and is out for the season.
Florida tumbled eight places to No.16 after its first loss. Kentucky dropped out of the poll despite beating South Carolina in overtime.
Alabama moved up one spot to No.6 ahead of a huge clash with Georgia that could shake up the top of the rankings.
The AP poll is voted on by sportswriters and broadcasters each Sunday. It is separate from the College Football Playoff rankings, which decide the playoff field.
