Kaif: Indian Cap Being Given Away for Free; Backs Bhuvi Comeback

Former India batter Mohammad Kaif has criticised the frequent chopping and changing of the national side, saying on YouTube that the ‘Indian cap is being given away for free’.

Kaif argued that too many players are being tried without a settled plan, diluting the value of representing the country. His comments have resonated with fans frustrated by constant rotation.

He also backed a comeback for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been out of the Indian team for nearly four years. Bhuvi last played for India in 2022 against New Zealand at Napier.

Across 229 international matches, Bhuvneshwar has taken 294 wickets with his swing and control. He was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s back-to-back IPL title wins.

Kaif believes Bhuvi’s experience could stabilise India’s attack, particularly in conditions that reward swing bowling.

The selectors face a balancing act between blooding youth and recalling proven performers. Kaif’s intervention adds a respected voice to the debate.
