Trump Suggests Iran Could ‘Take Out’ LA And San Diego

President Donald Trump has suggested that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego.
Trump made the remarks on Monday at a midterm rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was discussing the Iran war and high gas prices.
“They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay,” he said.
California Governor Gavin Newsom called the comments “deranged and dangerous”. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria also condemned the remarks.
Republican congressional candidate Jim Desmond from the San Diego area also objected. He said no American city is expendable.
The White House pushed back on Tuesday. Communications director Steven Cheung said the “media freakout” was “not rooted in reality”.
Cheung said Trump was describing the threat US cities would have faced from a nuclear-armed Iran.
When a reporter asked Trump about the comments on Tuesday, he swatted the question away and turned to other journalists.
