Google’s October Pixel update adds Nano Banana AI editing

Google has started rolling out its October update for Pixel phones, bringing the Nano Banana AI image generation feature to users.
Nano Banana lets users create and edit images with simple text prompts. The tool has drawn attention for the quality of its AI-generated edits.
The feature works inside the Photos app and other Google apps. Users can describe the change they want, and the AI applies it to the picture.
The update also includes the usual monthly security patches and bug fixes. Google is rolling it out in phases, so some users may get it later this week.
AI image tools have become a key battleground for phone makers. Google is betting that on-device AI features will set the Pixel apart from rivals.
Pixel phones have long been known for their camera software. The company typically rolls out feature drops to Pixel devices every few months through the year.
