Delhi Police will provide body cameras to frontline personnel. The move comes amid ongoing protests in the capital.

The cameras will record interactions with the public. Officials say the footage will improve accountability.

Frontline staff handle crowd control and patrols. Bodycams are expected to act as a check on both sides.

The decision follows recent protest activity in Delhi. Police-public encounters have drawn public attention.

Recorded footage can serve as evidence in disputes. It can also protect officers from false complaints.

Several police forces worldwide use body cameras. Studies suggest they reduce complaints against officers.

The rollout will begin with frontline units. More personnel are likely to be covered in later phases.

Officials said training will accompany the rollout. Staff will learn when and how to use the devices.

The force has faced scrutiny over its handling of recent protests. Officials hope the cameras will build public trust and transparency.
