AAP Joins INDIA Bloc Protest Over ‘Vote Theft’ in Delhi Today

The Aam Aadmi Party has said its leaders and workers will join opposition parties in a protest on Tuesday outside the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office. The demonstration targets alleged vote theft in the electoral rolls.
The protest follows an INDIA bloc march on October 6. Around 260 people were reportedly detained while marching toward the Election Commission office. Rahul Gandhi led that march. It demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Opposition parties allege large-scale changes to voter lists that benefit the BJP. They point to disputed voter deletions in Delhi and Mumbai. The Election Commission rejects the charges. It says all its actions were lawful. The BJP also denies the allegations.
The opposition has planned a series of protests. These include a rally in New Delhi on November 1 and a representation to the President. Delhi Police stopped the October 6 march citing restrictions on large gatherings without permission.
