Microsoft, Nvidia CEOs to Unveil Surface Laptop Ultra Today

Microsoft and Nvidia will unveil the Surface Laptop Ultra at a San Francisco event on Wednesday. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will take the stage together. The laptop runs on Nvidia’s new RTX Spark chips. Microsoft wants Windows PCs to run AI agents locally. The chips let agents write code and handle complex projects without reaching the cloud.
For Microsoft, the move shifts expensive AI work away from its Azure data centres and onto machines that customers pay for. For Nvidia, it opens the Windows PC market, which has long been ruled by Intel and AMD. The event begins at 10 am PT, which is 10:30 pm IST.
Leaks suggest prices from under $3,000 to over $7,000. The top model may carry a 20-core CPU, 6,144 GPU cores and up to 128GB of unified memory. All models are expected to ship with a 15-inch mini-LED display with 2,000 nits peak brightness and Windows 11 Pro. Analysts say the key test is proving AI agents can be safely contained on personal computers. Apple is chasing the same goal with new Mac computers.
