Suriya’s upcoming film Scene has reportedly fetched Rs 88 crore from Netflix for its streaming rights, nearly three times its production budget, according to reports. Netflix has confirmed it holds the film’s OTT streaming rights.

The Jithu Madhavan directorial releases in theatres worldwide on November 6, a major Diwali release. Suriya plays a police officer named Imbaraj IPS in the action-comedy. Nazriya Nazim is the female lead, with Naslen in another key role. The supporting cast includes Anand Raj, Lal and Raj Priyan.

Scene is Jithu Madhavan’s first Tamil film. The Malayalam filmmaker is known for Romancham and Aavesham. Music is by Sushin Shyam, making his Tamil cinema debut, and Sony Music South holds the music rights. The film is produced by Jyotika and Suriya under Zhagaram Studios.

The film wrapped shooting in July and has been generating strong buzz since its title teaser. Its theatrical release will be followed by the Netflix premiere, though the streaming date has not been announced.
