Chhattisgarh bags Rs 43,600 crore investment proposals

Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth Rs 43,600 crore at its latest investors’ meet. The commitments span steel, power, food processing and logistics.
State officials said the proposals came from domestic and overseas firms. Several are linked to downstream steel and agro-processing units.
The state has been pushing its industrial policy hard in recent months. Officials pointed to land banks, power availability and single-window clearances as draws.
Proposals are not the same as money on the ground. Many will need clearances, land deals and financing before they turn into factories.
Even so, the headline number marks one of the biggest proposal hauls for the state this year. The government said it will track conversions closely.
The proposals include integrated steel plants and power projects. Officials said food processing units will help farmers get better prices. The state is also pitching data centres and logistics parks. A dedicated team will follow up with each investor, the government said. It added that land allotment will be fast-tracked. The meet is part of a wider push to lift the state’s investment profile.
