Dimensity 9600 Pro explained: what MediaTek’s 2nm chip brings

MediaTek has launched the Dimensity 9600 Pro. It is the company’s new flagship mobile chip. Oppo will use it first in the Find X10 Pro Max in India. Here is what the chip offers. The 9600 Pro is built on a 2nm process. Smaller transistors mean better speed and lower power use. It has a 2+3+3 CPU setup. Its top cores run at up to 4.55GHz. MediaTek claims 17 percent better single-core speed. Multi-core speed is up 15 percent. Power use is down 61 percent in multi-core tasks. The chip focuses on on-device AI. It has a dual-NPU design. It can run AI models with up to 30 billion parameters. This means more AI features work on the phone itself. Your data does not need to go to the cloud. For gaming, it has the G2-Ultra NX GPU. It supports up to 185 frames per second. Ray tracing is 18 percent faster. For cameras, it has the Imagiq 1290 image processor. It supports 4K video at 240 frames per second. It also supports 4K120 cinematic log recording. The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max may launch in India in the coming weeks.
