Prasidh Krishna likely to miss New Zealand ODIs with injury

India pacer Prasidh Krishna is likely to miss the ODI series against New Zealand. He is out of action for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury. The Times of India reported the development on October 6. Krishna hurt his left hamstring during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati. He bowled only five overs before leaving the field in the 31st over. He missed the third ODI in New Chandigarh. Anshul Kamboj replaced him in the squad. Krishna has reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He has begun his recovery programme there. He may need nearly four weeks to bowl at full intensity again. India’s New Zealand tour begins with a T20I series on October 22. The five-match ODI series starts on November 4 in Auckland. The recovery timeline makes his availability for the series uncertain. He may be fit only for the later ODIs. Krishna is also likely to miss the Ranji Trophy opener on October 11. Karnataka begin their campaign against Andhra Pradesh in Vijayawada. India won the ODI series against the West Indies 2-1. The T20I series starts on October 6 in Lucknow.
