Bethlehem Kudumba Unit crosses Rs 138 cr overseas

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has closed its overseas box office run at Rs 138.45 crore, making it the highest-grossing South Indian film overseas in 2026. The family entertainer began its journey during the Onam season in Kerala.
What started as a warm regional release travelled far beyond its home market. Strong word of mouth carried it to diaspora audiences across the Gulf, North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
The film’s overseas total puts it ahead of every other South Indian release this year in foreign markets. Trade watchers say family dramas with universal emotions travel best, and this one proved the point.
South Indian cinema has steadily grown its overseas footprint. Big-ticket action films grab headlines, but mid-size family entertainers like this one often show the strongest legs in foreign territories.
The makers have not announced streaming or satellite plans yet. For now, the Rs 138.45 crore overseas haul stands as the year’s benchmark for South Indian films abroad.
