Fujitsu to trial AI agents for retail store operations

Fujitsu will launch a trial environment for AI agents designed to improve retail store operations and management decisions. The trial begins on October 6, 2026, the company announced.
The trial covers four AI agents for sales structure analysis, customer loyalty analysis, sales planning and store manager support, plus their execution platform. Fujitsu will run demonstration experiments with seven retail companies in phases.
The agents will be offered through Uvance for Retail, Fujitsu’s platform for AI transformation in retail and distribution. They support retailers from data analysis to planning steps that raise sales and improve profits.
The four agents and their platform are scheduled for official launch in June 2027. Fujitsu plans to add more agents over time for other retail tasks.
The company will show the agents at the Asia-Pacific Retailers Convention in Tokyo from October 7. Retailers face tight margins and staff shortages, and Fujitsu is betting that AI helpers for store managers will find ready buyers.
