Apple Plans Two October Launches, Smart Home Hub On Oct 13

Apple plans to unveil its long-delayed smart home hub, a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K on October 13, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported. The company is also expected to hold a second launch later in October for new Macs, MacRumors reported.
The smart home hub, codenamed J490, is said to feature a 6 to 7-inch display with a design inspired by the iMac G4, an A18 chip, facial recognition and a new operating system centred on Siri AI. It will come in tabletop and wall-mounted versions, according to reports.
The HomePod mini 2 is expected to get a newer chip, Wi-Fi 7 support and new colours including pink and green. The Apple TV 4K is tipped to move to an A19 or A19 Pro chip with 8GB to 12GB of RAM.
Later in October, Apple is expected to unveil M6-powered Macs, including a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen, a base 14-inch MacBook Pro and an M6 iMac. The iPhone Duo launches on October 23 with pre-orders starting October 12.
