Applied Intuition to power Nissan’s AI-defined vehicles

Applied Intuition has announced a collaboration with Nissan to provide its AI-native development platform for the carmaker’s next-generation vehicles.
The US software firm will deploy its Vehicle OS software and AI-powered development tools with Nissan Motor. The engagement extends a relationship that began in 2020.
Applied Intuition’s teams in Japan and Silicon Valley will work with Nissan’s engineering team in Japan to shorten software-development timelines and accelerate AI-native vehicle development.
“Nissan is strengthening its software and AI-driven development capabilities as we advance toward the realization of AI-defined vehicles,” said Takashi Yoshizawa, Nissan’s corporate executive for SDV engineering.
The tooling is designed to modernize software workflows, reduce development complexity, and enable a common software platform across multiple powertrains.
Nissan is pursuing a more efficient and agile approach to vehicle development, the company said. It values Applied Intuition’s technical expertise and track record in advanced vehicle software.
The announcement on October 5 builds on a collaboration that began in 2020. Applied Intuition is a US-based software firm focused on development tools for autonomous and software-defined vehicles.
