BCCI reviews women’s team after Asian Games gold in Guwahati

The BCCI held a review meeting of the Indian women’s cricket team in Guwahati on Monday. Secretary Devajit Saikia chaired the session.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and head coach Amol Muzumdar attended. The meeting assessed the team’s recent run of mixed results.
India had a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in England in June and July. The team then bounced back with two continental titles: the Women’s Asia Cup in the UAE and the Asian Games gold in Japan.
No major decisions were reported from the meeting. The discussions focused on the way forward for the side.
The selectors are now expected to pick the squad for Zimbabwe women’s historic first bilateral tour of India. The visitors play three T20Is in Raipur on October 16, 18 and 20, followed by three ODIs in Vadodara on October 23, 26 and 28. The ODIs count toward the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29.
