Jailer 2 trailer out; Rajinikanth film releases October 15
Sun Pictures has released the trailer of ‘Jailer 2’, the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster. The trailer, including its Hindi version, dropped on October 5.
Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, forced to protect his family from the criminal network of Varman, played by Vinayakan. Nelson Dilipkumar directs, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film releases worldwide on October 15, ten days after the trailer launch. The sequel promises a larger, more action-heavy experience with the franchise’s trademark dark humour.
Returning cast members include Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik. New additions include S.J. Suryah, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Mithun Chakraborty.
The trailer also offers glimpses of Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, expanding the sequel’s star line-up. Produced by Kalanithi Maran, the film has been in development since its announcement in January 2025. Trade analysts expect the sequel to open strongly, with the Hindi trailer widening its reach beyond the Tamil market.
