Bengaluru Rains: Heavy Downpour Triggers Waterlogging, Traffic Snarls

Heavy rain has hit Bengaluru, causing waterlogging and long traffic jams across the city. Several underpasses and roads went under water on Monday. The worst-hit areas included Peenya flyover, Hebbal Ring Road, Yelahanka, and Whitefield.
Vehicles moved at a crawl. Some two-wheeler riders could not pass through flooded stretches. IndiGo said flight schedules to and from Bengaluru were hit by the bad weather.
The airline said it was monitoring the situation. Commuters posted videos of flooded roads on social media. Many complained about hidden potholes under the water and slow civic response.
The weather office has forecast more rain in the coming days. Officials have been asked to keep traffic moving and clear drains. Residents have been advised to check forecasts before travel.
Hoodi recorded 5.55 cm of rain. Jakkur got 5 cm. HAL Airport recorded 4.25 cm.
Water stayed on roads late into the night. Officials have asked departments to clear drains and keep traffic moving. More rain is possible over the next two to three days.
