Trump’s $90 Medicare Cheques to Go Out to Seniors This Month

About 20 million American seniors enrolled in Medicare will receive a one-time $90 payment in early October under a plan announced by President Donald Trump. The White House says the cheques, funded through a new Medicare Improvement Fund, will help offset rising healthcare costs for older Americans.
The payment comes as Medicare’s standard Part B premium stands at $202.90 per month. Not everyone qualifies: seniors whose premiums are paid by Medicaid, those paying higher income-based premiums, and most Medicare Advantage enrollees are excluded. Eligible seniors can check their status by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
The White House fact sheet says the payments will be sent automatically, with no application needed. Critics have questioned the timing and the use of Medicare funds for direct payments, while supporters say seniors deserve relief. The announcement adds to a series of healthcare moves by the administration ahead of the November midterms. The administration says the money will reach bank accounts and mailboxes within weeks of the announcement.
