The Batman Part II pauses filming as Reeves steps away

Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while director Matt Reeves deals with a family matter.
Warner Bros and DC Studios confirmed the halt in a statement on October 5. The studio said Reeves has its full support and it looks forward to resuming soon.
Filming had been under way in London since June. Sources told Deadline it is too early to say whether the pause will affect the film's release date of February 18, 2028.
The sequel has already suffered a string of delays. It was first dated for October 2025, then pushed to 2026, 2027 and finally February 2028.
Robert Pattinson returns as Batman, alongside Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan.
The film sits outside James Gunn's main DC Universe. Fans have waited six years since Reeves' 2022 original, and the latest pause will test their patience further.
Warner Bros has not set a date for production to resume. Industry watchers say even a short delay could push the film's marketing campaign into next year.
