Lewandowski Hat-Trick Fires Poland Past Romania

Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick as Poland thrashed Romania 6-0 in the UEFA Nations League, picking up their first win of the campaign.
Poland sailed into a three-goal lead within five minutes of the restart. Nicola Zalewski's trickery set up Lewandowski for the second, and an own goal by Virgil Ghita from a Frankowski cross made it three.
Piotr Zielinski added a delicate volleyed finish before Jan Bednarek headed in from a Szymanski corner. Lewandowski then hammered home his third from inside the area to complete the rout.
It was a statement night for Poland's record appearance-maker and goalscorer, named man of the match. The win puts Poland back in contention for promotion in their Nations League group. Romania, meanwhile, have now lost all three of their outings this season and five of their seven games in 2026. For Lewandowski, at this stage of his career, a hat-trick on the international stage is a reminder of enduring class.
