Rishabh Pant Celebrates Birthday During Irani Cup Festivities

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant celebrated his birthday on Sunday amid the Irani Cup, with teammates and fans joining in the festivities.
Pant, who has been a key figure in India’s Test setup, marked the occasion with the squad as wishes poured in from teammates, former cricketers and fans across social media. The celebration added a festive touch to the domestic season’s marquee fixture.
The Delhi-born cricketer’s comeback story continues to inspire, and his birthday was widely celebrated by the cricket fraternity. Messages highlighting his fighting spirit and match-winning knocks flooded timelines through the day.
Pant remains central to India’s plans across formats, and his form in the domestic season will be closely watched ahead of the international calendar.
The celebration came as Rest of India beat Jammu and Kashmir by 167 runs at Srinagar on Day 4 to lift the Irani Cup 2026. Pant, who turned 29 on October 4, missed the final day with a high fever — Sarfaraz Khan stood in as captain — but joined the trophy lift and cake-cutting, feeding the first slice to batting coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla. “When you win, all the pain and fever goes away,” Pant said, crediting Ravichandran Smaran’s unbeaten 135.
