This week's OTT lineup is led by two very different Indian stories. Reporting Live, Netflix's Hindi original starring Parineeti Chopra, arrives on October 9 with a newsroom thriller set around a sand-mining mafia in the Chambal region.

Also on Netflix on October 9 is Animals, the Ben Affleck-starrer that premiered to strong notices. A day earlier, on October 8, the Tamil rural drama Mandaadi lands on the platform. Starring Soori as a fishing captain who stakes everything on a boat race, it grossed over 150 crore rupees in theatres.

Prime Video's big release is Carrie on October 7, a new take on the Stephen King story. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings onto digital on October 6, while JioHotstar's Pati Patni Aur Panga season 2 streams from October 10.

The week is heavy on Indian originals and familiar franchises, with theatrical hits Mandaadi and the Drishyam franchise's continued box-office run keeping regional cinema in the spotlight.

With the festive season approaching, platforms are front-loading their slates. Next week brings the Diwali releases, and this week's titles will have a short window to find their audience.
