Janhvi Kapoor condemns morphed AI video from ‘Chuttumalle’

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has spoken out against a morphed AI video made from the Devara Part 1 song “Chuttumalle”, calling for respect for a woman’s consent and choice.
In a statement, Kapoor said that “consent, choice and respect for a woman’s body should be basic.” She urged people to reconsider their attitude towards women’s boundaries and asked those involved in such harassment to introspect.
She thanked actors Chiranjeevi, Vijay and Khushbu for amplifying the issue and calling for action against what she described as immoral practices. Kapoor said she hopes the current conversation forces a change in mindset.
AI-generated deepfakes of actors have become a growing problem in India. Several stars have raised concerns in recent months about fake videos and images being created without their consent. Kapoor’s strong statement adds to the industry’s push for better safeguards.
Industry bodies have been urging platforms to act faster on takedown requests for manipulated content. Legal experts say India’s IT rules now require intermediaries to remove non-consensual intimate imagery quickly. Kapoor’s statement adds momentum to calls for stricter enforcement and better detection tools.
