Bhuvneshwar to captain India at Hong Kong Sixes 2026

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will captain India at the Hong Kong Sixes 2026. The seven-man squad was announced on October 5 for the tournament starting October 30.
The squad blends IPL experience with explosive batting. Alongside Bhuvneshwar are Krunal Pandya, Shashank Singh, Rahul Tewatia, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi and T Natarajan.
For Bhuvneshwar, 36, it is a return to India colours. His last senior international was a T20I against New Zealand in November 2022. In 87 T20Is, he has taken 90 wickets.
He remains a force in the IPL. Retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 10.75 crore, he was the team’s leading wicket-taker in 2026 with 28 wickets.
The Hong Kong Sixes is cricket’s fastest format: six players a side, rapid scoring, and every player must contribute in all departments.
Pakistan are the defending champions, having won a record sixth title last year. The 2026 edition will be broadcast in India on the Sony Sports Network.
