Anil Kapoor's Subedaar has secured two national winner honours at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026, with Kapoor recognised for Best Actor in a Leading Role and director Suresh Triveni winning Best Direction for a Feature Film.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards announced national winners across 18 countries and territories in the Asia Pacific region. The recognition places the film among India's entries advancing to the Grand Finals of the awards.

Kapoor plays retired soldier Arjun Maurya, a man struggling to adjust to civilian life after returning home, who confronts corruption while facing challenges within his family. He described the Best Actor honour as a special moment in his career.

Kapoor and Triveni will now head to the Grand Awards Gala in Singapore on December 3, where an international jury will select the overall Asian winners. Among the other national winners is Jackie Chan, who represents China for The Shadow's Edge.

The production companies Opening Image and Abundantia Entertainment shared the news on social media, writing, "The global takeover continues!"

The awards follow a two-stage judging process, with national winners moving forward before the Grand Winners are selected. This year's competition spanned 335 national winners across 39 categories.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar was released on Amazon Prime Video on March 5.
