TECNO Phones to Translate Your Pet’s Emotions With AI

Traini, a Silicon Valley pet-emotional-intelligence company, has partnered with TECNO to integrate pet emotion translation natively into smartphones.
Using the phone's microphone, camera and AI processing, Traini's model analyses a pet's vocalisations, facial expressions, posture and behaviour, then interprets emotions like excitement, anxiety, alertness or loneliness in natural language.
The partnership, announced October 2, moves pet emotion AI from a standalone app to a native phone feature with closer sensor integration and faster access.
Traini says it has built a dataset covering more than 120 dog breeds and serves over five million registered users. The companies may expand into pet health alerts and AI-generated pet content.
For pet owners, the pitch is simple: your phone could soon tell you what your dog is trying to say.
The companies describe the work as interspecies communication: multimodal models that combine vocalisations, images, video, behaviour and environmental context, supported by feedback from millions of users worldwide.
TECNO is a major smartphone brand in Africa, South Asia and Latin America. Native integration means the feature works with the phone's own camera and microphone rather than through a third-party app, potentially reaching buyers far beyond the standalone PetGPT platform.
