Samsung has launched the Galaxy A08 in India at Rs 18,499 for the 4GB+64GB variant. The phone went on sale from October 1 via Samsung's online store, exclusive stores and partner outlets.

The 4G phone runs on the MediaTek Helio G99+ chip and packs a 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging. It has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and a 50MP dual rear camera.

Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, among the longest support promises in the budget segment. It ships with Android 16-based One UI 9, Circle to Search, Gemini and Perplexity.

The M08 and F08, launched alongside with identical specs, are listed as coming soon with prices yet to be announced. Zero-interest EMI plans up to nine months are available on eligible cards.

The launch adds to a crowded October release calendar that includes the Redmi 17C 5G and Samsung's own M08 and F08 twins, all competing for budget buyers in the festive season.

Samsung's zero-interest EMI plans, up to six months on bank cards and nine months through NBFC partners, are aimed at pulling price-sensitive buyers who would otherwise wait for deeper festival discounts.
