ISL 2026-27 Kicks Off Oct 10: Bengaluru FC Face SC Delhi

The Indian Super League's 2026-27 season will begin on October 10 with a double-header, as Bengaluru FC host Sporting Club Delhi in the opening match.
The first game kicks off at 5 PM at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Later the same evening, FC Goa host Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium at 7:30 PM.
Thirteen teams will compete this season. Defending champions East Bengal, who finished last season atop the standings with 26 points, begin their title defence on October 18 against Churchill Brothers in Goa. East Bengal miss the opening gameweek because of their AFC commitments.
Phase 1 comprises 78 matches and runs until January 17, 2027. The top six teams at the end of this phase qualify for the playoffs, while fixtures for Phase 2 and the playoffs will be announced later.
The season brings several firsts. Churchill Brothers make their ISL debut, and the first Goa derby against FC Goa is scheduled for December 13. The league expands into Manipur, where NorthEast United host Sporting Club Delhi in Imphal on November 24. The Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set for November 29.
Organisers said fan feedback shaped the schedule, with 68 per cent of Phase 1 matches set for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. The league will pause for the FIFA international window from November 7 to November 20.
