Injuries pile up as No. 4 Miami leads Clemson at half

No. 4 Miami led Clemson 17-6 at halftime on Saturday, but the Hurricanes piled up injuries in a bruising first half.

Defender McCoy left with an arm injury but returned wearing a harness. Lightfoot went to the locker room for treatment, and Buchanan was sidelined with a leg issue.

Quarterback Mensah threw for 141 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing score. Miami’s defence recorded five sacks and held Clemson to net zero rushing yards in the half.

Clemson managed just two field goals against constant pressure. The Tigers struggled to move the ball all half.

Miami will hope its injured players can return after the break. The Hurricanes’ depth will be tested in the second half.
