Monsoon withdraws from Delhi, mild chill sets in mornings

The India Meteorological Department says the southwest monsoon has completely withdrawn from Delhi-NCR, ushering in clear skies and a mild chill in mornings and evenings.
Delhi is expected to stay dry and sunny through October 5, with the maximum temperature around 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum near 24. Winds of 20 to 22 kmph are expected during the day, according to IANS.
The recent spell of rain has cooled the region. People stepping out in the morning and at night are likely to feel a slight coolness in the air.
Delhi’s air quality remained in the moderate category. Readings ranged from 133 at Patparganj to 198 at Alipur on Saturday morning.
Similar conditions are expected to prevail from October 3 to 5, with no indication of storms or rain, the meteorological department said.
The capital usually sees pleasant October weather after the monsoon retreats, before winter pollution begins to build in late October and November.
