Anthropic Commits $100M to Train 10,000 AI Deployment Engineers

Anthropic is committing $100 million to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027, through a new Claude Frontier Academy announced on Friday.
The opening programme, the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency, is modelled on medical training. Engineers first complete a multi-day in-person programme with a simulated enterprise deployment and a graded assessment, then move into a 12-week residency leading a real Claude project inside their own organisation with support from Anthropic engineers.
First cohorts draw on Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk. Anthropic expects the first FDE badges in early 2027.
“No AI company has invested in developing that talent inside its customers and partners at this depth,” said Steve Corfield, Anthropic’s global head of business development and partnerships.
Why it matters: AI labs are learning that powerful models are useless if nobody inside the customer’s company knows how to deploy them.
