Aman Sehrawat wins Asian Games wrestling gold in 57kg class

Aman Sehrawat won the men’s freestyle 57kg wrestling gold at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday, beating North Korea’s Han Chong Song 11-7 in the final, Jagran Josh reported.
The Olympic bronze medallist controlled the bout to upgrade the bronze he had won at the Hangzhou 2022 edition. The gold added to India’s big medal haul on the final Saturday of the Games.
Antim Panghal, the world No. 1, had to settle for silver in the women’s 53kg event. She lost 1-9 on points to Japan’s Moe Kiyooka in the gold-medal bout. The silver was still India’s first medal in the event and an improvement on Antim’s bronze at the 2022 Games.
Wrestling finished with two golds for India at Nagoya, with Sujeet Kalkal taking the men’s freestyle 65kg title earlier.
The results matter for the Olympic roadmap. Both Aman and Antim are expected to lead India’s wrestling squad into the 2028 Los Angeles qualification cycle.
