India Stay No.1 in T20I Rankings After Asian Games Gold
India maintained their No.1 position in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings after beating Pakistan to clinch the Asian Games gold medal.
According to the updated table published by Wisden, India lead the chart with a rating of 269. England are second, also on 269, but behind on decimal points. Australia are third with 260.
Pakistan, beaten by 19 runs in the final, are sixth with a rating of 240. New Zealand and South Africa sit fourth and fifth.
India had briefly lost the top spot to England earlier in September after England’s 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka, but reclaimed it and have now consolidated their lead with the Asian Games triumph.
The gold medal in Nagoya was India’s second successive Asian Games cricket title, following the women’s team’s victory over Sri Lanka.
The rankings update reflects India’s strong recent form in the shortest format, with the team holding a clear lead over second-placed England.
