Jackie Shroff’s rural horror Kaali Kheti releases Oct 23
Jackie Shroff’s rural horror film Kaali Kheti will release in theatres on October 23. The makers announced the date with a first-look poster.
The poster shows a mysterious creature holding a lamp. Shroff captioned his post, ‘Roshni bujhne na dena, kheti jaagne wali hai,’ meaning do not let the light go out.
The film stars Jackie Shroff, Sharad Kelkar and Neha Sargam in lead roles. The cast also includes Virendra Saxena, Shaji Choudhary and child artist Spandan.
Written and directed by Haris Imtiyaz Khan, the film is produced by Sana Khan under the BlackCanvas Studio banner. It was announced in May under the title Kheti.
The director says the film examines agriculture through the lens of horror. He called it fresh, exciting and deeply disturbing, with family, legacy and buried truths at its centre.
This marks a rare full-fledged horror film for Shroff. He earlier starred in horror-comedies like Bhoot Unkle in 2006 and Phone Bhoot in 2022.
