Stree 3 Eyes 2028 Release; Mahavatar Shoot Starts Jan 2027

Maddock Films has shared major updates on two of its biggest projects. Producer Dinesh Vijan spoke about Stree 3 and Mahavatar at FICCI Frames 2026 in Mumbai.
Vicky Kaushal’s Mahavatar will begin filming towards the end of January 2027. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik and tells the story of Bhagwan Parshuram. Vijan called it Maddock’s most ambitious film. Kaushik is expected to finish the shoot by June 2027.
Stree 3 will go on floors towards the end of 2027, after Mahavatar wraps. The horror comedy is now planned for a 2028 theatrical release. Independence Day and Christmas are the two possible release windows.
Vijan teased a surprising story for the third Stree film. “Anything you have thought, remove that from your mind,” he said. “Everything you have loved about it, you’ll get. However, where it starts and where it ends will be a complete revelation.”
Stree 3 will bring back Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee return. Akshay Kumar is expected to play a key role.
Stree 2 released in 2024 and became a major box-office success. It expanded Maddock’s horror comedy universe, which also includes Bhediya and Munjya.
